Do you have a great idea for an educational video game?
Registration has officially opened for the 2012 National STEM Video Game Challenge.
The National STEM Video Game Challenge is a competition that aims to motivate interest in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) learning by tapping into students' natural passion for playing and making video games.
VGVN Ambassadors, this competition is a perfect fit for you to show your love of video games and learning. Original video game concepts and designs from students and educators are being accepted from November 15, 2011 through March 12, 2012.
One of the four categories for individuals and teams to submit their video game concept is specifically open to undergraduate and graduate students. Entrants are asked to design original games for children in pre-K through grade 8 that teach STEM concepts and/or foster an interest in STEM subject areas.
This challenge would be a fun, new way for you to apply your college education within a platform you love, video games. The winners of the Collegiate Category will be awarded a prize pool of $30,000 for seed money, research, and marketing distribution to make your concept a business venture. Oh, and don't forget bragging rights around their campus.
Rally your friends and other video game lovers on your campus now and see what ideas you can come up with. Good luck!
