Become an Ambassador

Calling all student leaders

If you are passionate about computer and video games and looking for a creative volunteer and leadership opportunity, be an Ambassador.

We know the last thing you're thinking about as a student is: how can I use up more free time?

But that's the wrong question to ask. Here's the question you should be asking: how can I use my love of video games to develop better leadership skills - that might lead to a good job right out of school? Or lead to a richer college experience?

VGVN is active in all the important civic and political conversations that involve the computer and video game industry. In addition, this industry is growing and employers are looking for more than just skills, they need leaders.

But what will an Ambassador do?

As a VGVN Ambassador you, and any fellow Ambassadors on campus, will start a local campus group. How frequently and formally the group meets is up to you.

You can maintain a social media presence to provide a forum for discussions about various topics on video games.

You also get together for pizza guessed games.

If you have the ambition, why not set up a series of discussion forums? You could invite your fellow classmates, or maybe a faculty member, and discuss important topics, like video game careers and video game rights. Did you know the U.S. Supreme Court just ruled this summer that video games are protected as free speech under the First Amendment? There are some pre-law students out there who would love a lively discussion about that.

In short, this opportunity is what you make of it and the most important step in everything is having the community. Through this online platform, the VGVN Ambassadors Program is here to help you with that.

Here's how to be an Ambassador...steps 1, 2, 3:

Step 1: Sign up to become an Ambassador on the form in the top right of this page.

Step 2: Recruit your fellow students to become VGVN members. It's easy and free and there's no commitment - and hey, they should be members anyway, it's a no-brainer.

Step 3: The moment you sign up to be an Ambassador, you are an important leader in our grassroots network. But to become an official Ambassador, we ask you to recruit at least 25 new members to the Video Game Voters Network.

Now you and your fellow Ambassadors on campus can organize events and discussions around campus. We will help you connect with each other and get get out there and recruit your friends today.
